Sperm & egg freezing

Fertility preservation

Sperm and egg freezing let you protect your ability to have children — before cancer treatment, before vasectomy, ahead of gender-affirming care, in high-risk occupations, or simply because parenthood is planned for later. Freezing is proven, safe and increasingly routine; the regret we see is almost always in those who didn’t.

Diagnosis at Ankur

A short consultation covering your timeline and health, baseline testing (semen analysis or ovarian reserve), and screening bloods required before storage.

Treatment options

Ovulation disorders

Anovulation and irregular cycles identified and treated on cause, not on a single protocol.

Preconception assessment

A planned check of both partners before trying — hormones, sperm, cycle and general health.

Sperm freezing (cryopreservation)

Quick and inexpensive — often completed within a day or two of deciding.

Egg freezing

Ovarian stimulation and retrieval, with eggs vitrified for future use.

Onco-fertility fast-track

Urgent preservation coordinated with your oncologist before chemotherapy or radiation.

Long-term storage & counselling

Transparent storage terms and guidance on future use (ICSI/IVF).

Frequently asked questions

How long can samples stay frozen?
Decades, with no meaningful loss of quality — pregnancies have followed 20+ years of storage.
Does freezing damage sperm or eggs?
Modern vitrification preserves the large majority of quality; your future options remain strong.
When should eggs be frozen?
Earlier is better — ideally before 35 — but assessment tells you what’s realistic at any age.
What does it cost?
All costs are explained transparently during consultation and provided in writing before treatment is undertaken. Egg freezing involves stimulation and retrieval, so it is not comparable to sperm freezing; exact figures are given at the consultation.

Counselling & support

Infertility strains marriages, self-worth and mental health — quietly and severely. Counselling at Ankur is not an afterthought: trained counsellors support couples through diagnosis, treatment decisions, cycle stress, pregnancy loss, and the third-party options (donor gametes) where feelings need as much care as medicine.

Treatment options

Couples counselling

Structured support for decision-making, intimacy strain and the emotional load of treatment.

Cycle & loss support

Help through the two-week wait, failed cycles and miscarriage.

Third-party reproduction counselling

Mandatory, compassionate counselling before donor sperm/egg decisions.

Referral & coordination

Working alongside psychiatrists where anxiety or depression need medical care.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need counselling if we’re coping fine?
A single session before major decisions is valuable even for strong couples — it aligns expectations.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes, fully — including from the rest of your treatment file where you prefer.
Is counselling required for donor treatment?
Yes — Indian ART regulations require counselling before donor procedures, and it genuinely helps.
Can I come alone?
Of course. Individual sessions are common, for men as much as women.
